Thermal Imaging (IR)
Thermal imaging is simply the process of converting infrared (IR) radiation (heat) into visible images that depict the spatial distribution of temperature differences in a scene viewed by a thermal camera.

Here in the above image we see bad cells on a solar panel, by using Thermal Imagery we can detect bad cells before they go out. The image to the right shows energy loss in one of the most common places, around the windows of a building.

In the utility industry Thermal Imaging has proven itself over in preventitive maintenance by saving public and private systems millions/yr.

In the above image we can easily detect that the temperature from inside the water tank is breaking through an area of concern, while in the image to its right we can spot an area of the roof that has been holding moisture under its surface.
