LiDAR Data Services

LiDAR is an acronym of "light detection and ranging and is sometimes referred to as 3-D laser scanning and is a method for determining ranges (variable distance) by targeting an object with a laser and measuring the time for the reflected light to return to the receiver.

This is how LaSen UAS provides survey grade point cloud data to our customers. To obtain an even higher accuracy we can pair the Rock Robotic R2A with our Aeropoints GCP's. The data collected will have an astonishing accuracy of within 2cm, making Lasen the perfect solution for all your aerial survey grade data collection.

It's What We Do

With the Rock platform, our software, hardware, and data hosting integration are all done through the same service, making it streamlined to deliver the data to the customer promptly.

LaSen UAS provides LiDAR survey data collection and analysis services for mapping substations, powerlines, railway corridors, pipeline routes, and many other architectural and engineering applications. Airborne LiDAR surveys offer many advantages. The data is collected rapidly and is used for many applications, including erosion identification, slippage, vegetation management, route planning, thermal uprating, and identifying encroachments.

A Point cloud is a set of data points that are generated in space. Each point is assigned an X,Y,Z coordinate. With tight tolerances and high accuracies required for engineers and surveyors, this LiDAR solution can provide you “survey-grade” data. With simple planning and processing, we are able to have a point-cloud model generated within an hour of leaving location.

Point Cloud Data

LiDAR (light detection and ranging) is a distance-measuring technique that employs a laser. A laser scanner sends out pulses of light. A portion of the photons emitted by the pulse is reflected back to the scanner when it hits a target. Since the direction of the pulse and the time between pulse emission and return are known factors, the 3D location from which the pulse is reflected is calculable. The laser produces a highly precise 3D point cloud (model) that can be used to estimate the 3D structure of the target area by emitting millions of such pulses and recording where they reflect.

With LiDAR data, there are countless ways to interpret the data supplied. The AI software LaSen uses aids in processing plani-metrics and classifying the point cloud data. Also, superficial topographic contour layers can be turned on and off with the viewer. Additionally, settings for these contour layers can be changed to meet our customer's requirements.
